Well, partially agreed. Note that US is a huge country, while UK has the
same size only as the State of Oregon. Given the size of UK, the education
quality is already quite impressive. Indeed, Cambridge graduates created
Harvard, Edinburgh graduates created many of the medical schools in US...
Just look at how Americans respect UK universities.
If you can go to top US universities, such as Harvard, MIT, Stanford, yes.
If not, between second-tier US universities versus top UK universities (such
as those in Russel Group), which one would you prefer?
The answer would not be that easy for many people...
I suggest a fresh, funny yet reasonable way of thinking when we compare US
versus UK: Let's think of UK as ONE State within US, called the State of UK.
If you are right now living in the State of Indiana for example who are
thinking to move to UK, you should ask yourself: Should I move from the
Indiana state to the UK state? Keep in mind that, the UK state has many more
good universities than Indiana; the UK state has one of the two global
cities London that is comparable to only NYC; the UK state obviously still
speak English, but with noble and better accent (in my opinion); the UK
state does not
have much snow with milder weather; the UK state is much closer to the
Europe continent; the UK state is a more "socialist" state than Indiana, for
example, the tax rate and the health care system, etc; the UK state does
not have 转基因食品 (Genetically modified food) while it is everywhere in
Indiana; the UK state has Waitrose which has the best food than any US
grocery stores (wholefood may be comparable but too pricey); many more, you
name it...
