我觉得入门最好的参考书。里面有模版可套。

应该向系里的资深教授请教。很多学校会指定faculty advisor的。即使没有，也可以
向其它的full professor请教评估自己的idea和写作要领。据我所知，NSF的小
proposal一般都是要工作先大致做完才能申请的到。但申请里要写的东西又不能是做过
的，大概应该是做过的东西的延伸。

can range from 90k-100k for base as fresh grad. With 4 years experience, I
bet it's still in this range, as GE don't pay high. If you're in senior band
, it could be higher, but I don't know about it. Also, there is no stock or
bonus option for GRC.

it sounds like a behavior question. don't know standard answer.
I will say speak up my idea in the brainstorm. if the idea of tech lead is
different from mine, I will challenge his idea by pointing out the its
limitation. this will indirectly prove the advantage of my idea. however, if
the final decision is made with all of my input, I will committ to the
decision.

It's based on your current pay, if you have other company's experience. If
you have house in another location, then you may ask for relocation. I don't
think GRC have any form of bonus at the end of year, since this level of
base is sufficient considering the location. You may argue for sign-on bonus
. But I don't have info about it. Wish you have a good deal from GE.

as long as you provide your SSN, then your previous pay is disclosed, it is
part of background check, I believe. About your mentioned "floating salary",
I have no idea, good to know:) But it will not be written on the offer
paper, right? So, why bother

once GRC begin background check, I should be informed with the information
they collected according to the contract.
'floating salary' is risky because it is not part of offer. manager can
cancel it if he want. I would share it with you once I knew details or
