Company will be closed, H1B layoff, last date is Oct 31, luckily, it is
possible to get an offer by end of Oct.
The problem is: it will be end of Oct if I get the offer, it will be no time
to file transfer H1B visa before Oct 31, it needs 1-2 weeks to apply LCA.
Should I change to other status at end of Oct? I estimate there will be
around 2 weeks gap if I don't change to other status.
Can't sleep now, please advise.

Please play safe, and transfer to another status ASAP.
USCIS is paranoid now.

In my case because of a gap of 17 days i-94 transfer was denied and need
to get a stamp outside of US. So you need to make sure gap is minimized.
Anything is possible.

问题是他怎么知道你的gap是17天呢？
雇主通知移民局也是需要时间的，在他们系统里面更新也是要时间的。这17天是怎么算
出来的？请解释下。

Thanks a lot for suggestion, lucky, after negociating with my current
employer, they agreed to give me one month extension.
The job market really tough, the prospective employer is also going to check
my China work history...dead slow and tough!
