Deployed to Iraq in 2007-2008 as a Gunner:
Maintained security of the lead vehicle in combat
Responsible for maintaining communication equipment for our vehicle, and
performed radio troubleshooting while on the road for the convoy.
Installed and maintained a satellite internet connection through a
private firm based out of the United Kingdom. Configured a router to
filter based on MAC addresses and limited bandwidth usage per users so
that 64 soldiers could share a 2MB connection.
Seasoned in combat operations.
Deployed to Afghanistan in 2004-2005 as a Radio / Telephone Operator
(RTO)
Responsible for my platoon’s radio communication with HQ, nearby
friendly units and air assets.
Contributed to the planning and briefings of combat patrols.
Trained 34 soldiers in proper use and protocols of radio operations.
Seasoned in security procedures and operations.
Received a provisional SECRET level clearance.
Training experience:
- Combat Life Saver: Skills include first response treatment of mild to
severe wounds on the battlefield
- Riot Control: Trained with Roanoke SWAT response team to develop
teamwork skills between units
