just got an offer of SDE from google two weeks after on-site. i am not CS
phd and has not taken any CS courses (except Fortran) but has been doing a
lot of writing code and scientific computing for a decade. i heard that
google is actively hiring this year, ~6000, which confirms rumors before.

i feel that google cares much more about how you design algorithm instead of
experience on specific languages. c is good enough. even fortran works.
