过两天有个onsite interview，是个大公司的sr.scientist的职位。广告上要求8年+的
经验，但因为我有内推所以还是拿到了onsite。本人是fresh phd graduate，就算厚着
脸皮把读博的年份全部算上也只有5年，而且还不全是做的和那个职位相关的事。据我
的推荐人讲，hiring manager说这个职位其实可sr.可不sr.,我觉得他就算收了我肯定
也不会给sr.的title。我的问题是：
在跟除了hiring manager以外的其他人（特别是director）面试的时候，需要主动向他
们声明就算没有sr.的title我也接受吗？否则如果别人不知就里，只是因为我申请sr.
不够格而拒了我岂不是冤枉？这话应该怎么对他们说好啊？
请大家提提意见，谢谢先！

Don't worry about it, it's not a big deal, they know that. If they hire you,
you will still be Sr as that's the rack for.

You've worried too much.
They will either downgrade the level to jr or, extend you
an offer of with the package at the lower end of the sr. level.
You don't need to proactively downgrade yourself during the interview. Try
your best and let the manager handle the rest.

我见到过这种情况，职位本身是Sr.，但是最后想要的是个fresh phd，后来花了大半年
让HR把职位重新弄了一遍，降到了lower level。

不要面试的时候就自降。显得不够自信。
面试是个综合感觉。如果hiring manager想要你，他们自会调整他们需要调整的东西。

没错,我的case就是这样.如果他们真想要你,一定会create出一个新的职位来适合你的
条件,然后再让你申请一遍.

不是每个公司rack都是死的。要是招不到人，downgrade那个rack也就是分分钟的事情
。

这种情况有可能是公司有一个更合适的人，在等那个人的答复。
你还是继续专心找别的公司吧。本版第一页的帖子写得很好，

If its one month already then very likely somebody else is considering an
offer in my opinion. If just 1-2 weeks possible that they are still
evaluating but 1 month... Very likely they create the jr level position for
that guy considering it.
