Recruiter asked LD for a list of potential candidates today, and she said it
does not matter if LD only knows them briefly or socially. She and her
team will do follow-up and recruiting.
So, if you are ready to apply and do not know any internal referral yet,
drop me a note (with name, contacts, school, year, etc), LD will compile the
list and pass it to the recruiter.
She also provided some information:
1. There is no more general hiring, and only focused hiring now. If
candidate does not specify the preferences, they will try to match based on
the resume and opening. Typically, interviewers will come from a couple of
interested groups.
2. Gender helps. They are desperately looking for women engineers.
3. Phone screen may be skipped, e.g. if candidate has open offer and wants
to rush the process.
