Summary:
The mission of the platform team is to enable ISVs, partners and customers
to create robust, cloudbased applications that naturally integrate with and
extend the capabilities of the business suite
at the core of the NetSuite application. As a member of the team, you will
share responsibility
for development of platform components in areas ranging from customization
and workflow to
programming APIs, development and test frameworks, deployment mechanisms,
web services and
more. You will work closely with other development teams, product
management and QA to define
and implement these components.
Responsibilities:
Your technical work will take you from the relational database up to the
presentation layer, with
a good deal of focus in the middle, where the application-processing engine
resides. You will
be actively involved in the development and definition of the APIs exposed
for platform-based
development. You will work on the overall framework, including front-ends
for tying applications
together, connecting them with the core suite and rendering them through a
native NetSuite or
purely custom UI. You will work on platform-based development facilities
for debugging and testing
applications. In short, most of what you depend up on for application
development must be available
to those who develop on SuiteCloud, and is therefore your concern as a
developer on the platform
team.
You must have an intimate, working understanding of modern web applications
from database
to browser. You must have a proficiency in SQL and extensive experience
with database driven
applications. You should have a sense for what constitutes a good API. You
must be an excellent
communicator in both technical and non-technical contexts. You must have a
record of working to
deadlines in a rapid development cycle and prioritizing competing demands.
Pride in your work and
a desire to delight the customer should motivate you to take initiative,
take responsibility and take
ownership of your projects.
Qualifications/Skills:
• B.S. in computer engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years software development experience
• 5 years SQL database experience
• 5 years experience with Java or C++
• Understanding of HTTP, Internet protocols, Web browsers
• Superior communication skills
Recommended
• Agile SCRUM experience
• Enterprise business application development experience
• 1+ years cloud-based software development experience
