手里有FLG中的某一家的offer,上周有来了下一代法轮功公司UPA中的一家的offer,现
在有点为难。FLG稳定,pay的高。UPA有risk。

不看好social,不看好P。A基本和L一样就是做一个小niche。U不错,可做大。flg里面
就lz自己看了吧

有道理。u做到了从线上到线下,未来这个市场比social那些大多了。

Uber might be the best startup in UPA. The issues with Uber are:
1, No technical barrier and users addiction. I know many people use both
lyft and uber, and just choose the one with lower price.
2, Regulations. International expansion will be a hard problem (if not
impossible) for Uber to solve. If you use ride sharing app in CHINA, you
will find Kuai Di and Di Di are much more popular than Uber.
Even if the regulation issues are solved by Uber. I could see Google, Apple,
Amazon,
Facebook, Microsoft could quickly provide a similar service like Uber. Then
, Uber is just the next Dropbox.

按我的理解,不是按巿值好不好?按市值的话,比FG大的还有呢。
Walmart比很多精品店大,但会有不少人追求品质,不去walmart买东西一样。自己喜欢
,精神愉悦,就是自信。你不喜欢,就是joke吗?

I agree with many of your points.
I doubt Uber will achieve great success outside of the US, especially in the
China region. It gained market share in the US by exploiting the vast
market inefficiencies in the Taxi industry here, such as expensive Taxi
medallions and tight regulations, and has been competing unfairly by
circumventing regulations and not providing insurance coverage. However, in
densely populated countries such as China, Taxis are much cheaper and
easier to come by, and the level of competition leaves very little profit
margin for Uber. Lower profits lead to driver dissatisfaction, which leads
to high churn rates and eventually collapse of its business model.
Basically, Uber's strategy that worked well in the US may not work at all in
China. Local Taxi companies have the economies of scale at their advantage
whereas individual driver-contractors don't. In these places Uber will
either have to partner with local Taxi companies (which it is already doing
in China), or make the drivers its employees (which makes it just a giant
Taxi company), both of which will reduce its profits and growth.
Regulation and legal troubles may also bring Uber to its knees outside of
the US. While it can hire former Obama advisors to lobby for itself and
assuming it will succeed, such acts will be much more difficult to pull off
in a foreign country. Also, Softbank is backing a global Taxi alliance
against Uber with a heavy focus in Asia. This may become ten times bigger
than Di Di or Kuai Di and be a big rival for Uber. So many internet
companies have failed to become the dominant player in China, such as Google
, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon due to various reasons. It would not be a
surprise if Uber fails to do so as well.
At some point, Uber will have to curb its global expansion and focus on
solving the legal and regulation problems at home first before it goes
public. It will also have to be creative and come up with ways to expand
its products into other domains of the transportation and logistics industry
. This better happen sooner than later or else the IPO window will close.
