Job responsibilities:
• Install new/rebuild existing server racks and configure servers,
storage, and services, etc. in accordance with standards and project/
operational requirements
• Perform daily system and security monitoring, verify the
integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and
key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying
completion of scheduled jobs.
• Provide support to various end user and developer groups as
needed.
• Investigate/troubleshoot issues.
• Apply software patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and
upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and
resource optimization as required.
• Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
Qualifications
• 3+ years relevant working experience
• Solid knowledge and hands-on experiences with OpenStack and Ceph
• Thorough understanding of systems and network protocols and UNIX/
Linux system internals.
• Very strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
including: Job control, soft and hard links, distinctions between the kernel
and the shell, shell scripting
• Solid ability to write scripts in some administrative language (
Perl, bash, shell, php, etc), strong experiences in grep, awk, sed, vi.
• Solid knowledge on TCP/IP, SNMP and other networking concepts and
protocols and network diagnostic tools
• Practical experience on network security and firewalls.
Travel
The position requires 30% of the time travelling to customer sites.
