Low rank matrix approximation is a widely used technique in Machine Learning
. Perhaps, the best way to understand it would be through the classical item
recommendation system example. The task is defined as follows. You’re
given a matrix 𝑋X where 𝑋𝑖,𝑗Xi,j represents
the rating the user 𝑖i gave to the item 𝑗j. So there would
