When you check the xx health, besides looking at CPU etc, there are reasons
we also check event count, you need to check the suspicious event and
investigate why they appear.
COUNT(*) EVENT MAX(SECONDS_
IN_WAIT)
---------- ---------------------------------------- --------------------
2701 SQL*Net message from client 512199
41 db file sequential read 0
15 rdbms ipc message 628310
11 read by other session 0
7 db file scattered read 0 =======?
db file scattered read means full table scan this is not normal, you need
to investigate why
3 SQL*Net message to client 0
2 Streams AQ: qmn slave idle wait 1
1 Streams AQ: waiting for time management 672
or cleanup tasks
1 pmon timer 47
1 smon timer 5
1 Streams AQ: waiting for messages in the 1
queue
I fixed the two queries with fts btw. If you don’t know how to fix, that’
s fine, but at least you need to point out the suspicious/abnormal behavior
during health check
Two problem sqls:
SQL_ID CHILD_NUMBER EXECUTIONS BUFFER_GETS/EXECUTIONS SQL_PROFILE
------------- ------------ ---------- ---------------------- ---------------

Your input is very valuable and critical. Pls do help and mentor the team.
However, pls make sure your tone doesn’t come out as condescending Offer
the criticism in a constructive fashion to promote team spirit. If the
receiving team members feel bad how the suggestion is made, they may miss
the point about it but the unnecessary emotional aspect will remain and it
wouldn’t help the team nor meet your goal in mentoring.
Typically when giving feedback, you may want to point, what the right way to
do is, what the pitfall in doing the wrong way and where they went wrong
and how they can avoid it.
