我们这新一点的房子的貌似都是poured basement。比起用空心砖垒起来的地下室应该
还是更结实和更不易漏水的。

美国的地基就是joke，就算是poured concrete，居然里面没有钢筋。国内所谓的“豆
腐渣”工程往往是说钢筋条太细，这里倒好，根本就没有钢筋，更不用说打桩了。钢筋

现在的水泥强度一般远高于小型民用住房的要求，这是为什么一些美国水泥浇灌的地基
没有钢筋。但是，我看过网上的很多视频还是有钢筋的。国内的豆腐渣工程一般都值得
是大的楼或大工程，当然需要钢筋加固。
要建钢筋混凝土的地基很容易，只要要求加足够的rebar连接就行。应该不需要太多钱
。至于地上部分，国内那种钢筋混凝土的房子也是一个钢筋混凝土的架子然后在上面铺
水泥预制板然后用砖垒墙。但是我觉得还是基于木头的比较好。很容易建而且便宜，以
后维护更改也容易，而且抗震性能远非一般的钢筋混凝土的房子可比。

我以前也觉得should有钢筋，但是事实告诉我们，也许加州地震带除外，美国大部分地
方的poured concrete是没有钢筋的。所以连木头房子，地基也可能会开裂，

I say 地基, I mean the foundation wall and footing. I'm not talking about
the floor, because unless it's a slab, it doesn't bear any load at all. Even
for slab, the shear stress is negligible (again, expect for CA), and thus
not so much need for steel reinforcement. But for foundation walls, the
reinforcement (steel or non-steel) gotta be there, because concrete can't
handle the shear stress.

We would think that the foundation walls have reinforcement. But the fact
is there isn't for most houses outside California!
Most foundation in US, they first install the wood forms,then pouring in the
concrete, and then done! No reinforcement steel, no welding or tied rebar
cage, nothing.

It is true that steel enforcement is not required in many states of this
country. If you buy a pre-built house or build your own house, sure you can
ask for that for extra money. Otherwise, you will have to live with it.
The quality of the houses in this country is far from satisfactory. After I
bought my house, I started to rank house builders the same as auto repair
shops as business with lowest moral. As far as I know, some very basic jobs
were very poorly done in my house like insulation and windows. My neighbors
told me the same story.

亲眼所见， IL新房foundation wall有钢筋。

打地基那几根竖着的钢筋是不够的，那几根只能用来搞柱子，支撑上面的，无法对
付地基沉降导致的地下室开裂。真正的钢筋地基是还有横着的钢筋，笼子状的。并且
slab里面也要那种细钢筋网。
其实也用不了多少钱，但是美国的builder基本上只要没有规定，就肯定不搞的。但
是如果你家旁边不巧有小溪，地下水位高，或者地下的土不结实，就会开裂。
