小孩做GT三年级的数学题,答案和老师的不一样.
小孩选B,老师说是C,小孩丢分.
老师的解释: "For the question, you do not know what you will get when you
take out a ball. So you have to think of the worst case scenario so to
guarantee the result. Your scenario is not the worst."
我的答复给老师:
From the question itself, it says ""what is the least number of gumballs....
..". "Least" from Webster's 1913 Dictionary is defined as "Smallest, either
in size or degree". Since we all know 13 is less than 16, then 13 should be
the correct answer. If based on your logic "have to think of the worst case
scenario so to
guarantee the result", then 16 is the answer to question "what is the most
number of gumballs" John has to pick to be sure of getting one of each color.
这里有高手吗,给分析分析.
原题如下:
John has 20 gumballs in a bag. He knows there are 8 red, 7 white, and 5
green. If John can only pick the gumballs in the bag without looking, what
is the least number of gumballs he must pick from the bag to be sure of
getting one of each color?
A: 3
B: 13
C: 16
D. 20
