就是那种落水，快要被缓缓溺死，却无能为力的窒息感
好像这样的地方还不少，老板年轻时雄才大略，年纪大了体力不支干不动了
这时候ta有两种选择：
1. 把生意传下去
1.a 传给自己子女，这当然是最理想的，美国警察消防员法官医生都很多legacy，
至少上一辈的社会关系都可以用么；可惜多数移民的孩子都不想做或者做不了父母de行业
1.b 传给外人，前提是外人能保自己平安退休
2. 把生意"维持"下去
2.a 找一个二傻子，吃的是草拉的是奶，能力超强还不抢自己饭碗的；类似于国内

3dcba077376baf1ffc4fad52 但是现在发展中国家体制与国际接轨，这样的人越来越难
找了
2.b 找一堆庸才(不庸的看这烂摊子几天就跑了，碰到奇葩的搞不好成果都被抢了）
，老实但能力一般，死活就不开窍，能维持住底线的运营但是毫无创新；老板自己靠过
去的一张老脸到处求爷爷告奶奶找资源勉强维持运营；反正已经6张了，撑几年顺利退
休，洪水滔天也不关我毛事
2类型的玩法取决于老板的年龄
53的甚至工业界43的，瞎搞捣糨糊容易被上头fire掉，至少日子不会很好过
63的，念在在单位服务了2,30年，没有功劳也有苦劳，搞不好很多当头的还是老资格的
学生，一般上面都认了，给ta钱让ta玩，忍到退休，最差人走茶凉了事
但2b的下属和学生，处境就很有意思了
这些人没有笨到嗅不到大形势，组织不行了再傻的人也能从旁人的眼神中看出来不屑一
顾；
但是也没有能力强到力挽乾坤，挽狂澜于既倒扶大厦与将倾
想干不知道怎么干，想走外面拿不到位置；老板是待遇还行也不开人，开了没新（sha
）人(zi)跟，ta就成光杆司令了；业绩又不满意，天天甩脸子拿别人撒气；下边的是没
本事没脾气，全是太监样，一门心思吃大户混老板的生活

跟48年的gmd一样，都知道要倒，就是不知道几时倒；多数人都撑到最后一刻了
终究是能力不济，别人是professional，爬组织的career ladder
2b组织的小兵其实是家奴，只能等大树倒了，溺死之前但愿有好心人给扔个救生圈；只
是人生一路下坡，各中滋味不好受啊

Just called USCIS today and found out I-485 was approved, and the card was
mailed out yesterday 06/22/2011! But the on-line status is still initial
review.
It seems TSC is working hard and picking up in speed! Good luck to all

2005 BS in Biology from China, 2010 PhD in Biomedicine from an Ivy League university, currently postdoc in big pharma.
Claimed authorship, contribution and review.
Authorship: 12 journal papers at the time of application. Half of them are research papers (3 first-author papers, impact factors between 11-26), the other half are invited reviews. It seems not necessary to distinguish between "real" hardcore research papers from review papers. I did not emphasize research papers carry more weight than review papers in terms of contributions to the field, or vice versa. Just count everything. I also counted 2 papers under review of which I am one of the middle authors, to show that I have sustained productivity thus sustained contribution to the field.
Review: This was the time-consuming part. I started collecting reviews right after I graduated in May 2010, and it took 8 months to reach 30 reviews. I counted everything, initial reviews and second round reviews. I also requested letters from editors-in-chief. Two of them were from Australia and Germany, and I emphasized my international reach.
Contribution: Citation was my weakness. Only ~80 including about 10% self-citation. So I did not emphasize the sheer number of citations, or the trend over the years because all my papers were recent dating back to 2008. Instead I showed the international distribution, the high-impact factors of my papers, and cited from my RLs. Luckily, my field was very small, and professors were willing to write very good letters since they read my papers. I also included a-mails from others asking for reagents, protocols and paper reprints.
The message to take is that you do not have to mention everything. Do try not to expose your weaknesses, and do not be shy to sell the best of yourself.

租车公司的carseat质量不行。
建议到店里花50块钱买一个简易型的carseat使用，
这个50块钱当作整个旅游的费用的一部分，就不心疼了。

Re, 如果经常旅游的，最好买个套保护一下。
我还在机场见过有人用拉杆车拖着car seat随身走。

顺便说一声,很多shuttle小朋友可以sit on the lap(不上高速的). 如果就在城里玩,
就不用租车了

GoGo kidz travelmate. We have been using it for my 2 years old. it can be
mounted to various car seat and turned into a stroller. really amazing. we
absolutely love it. kid loves it because it's her car seat and we know it's
safe
