Why yoyo says "不是万不得已，不walk-in。"
My understanding is you have to visit the local USISC office to provide
finger print anyway. Do we get choice to not do that?

意思是说，walk-in是给真有急事的人的一个option，如果你认为早早打指纹可以早拿
绿卡，所以想walk-in，abuse walk-in，使得真正有急事需要walk-in的人被拒绝了....

请教个问题，我指纹都打了2周多了，LUD还是没变；难道系统自动更新是预约日期再向
后几天？如果是这样，walk in没意义啊，不能提早任何事情

Lud啥都说明不了。主要是fp 之后你的name check 就可以开始了。
真的需要查一下从哪个帖子开始提倡walk in 的。

FP is part of the Name Check, not the start. Walk-in just provide reliefs to
yourself in most cases.

Is there any downside of doing walk-in earlier? Except you can delay other
people's progress.

这个，下午3点多去都没什么人吧。要是去同一个网点，对他们来说只不过是把工作量
提前了而已。

现在的情况是，很多ASC即使没什么事干也不让你walk-in
难保不是因为之前太多人要求walk-in造成的

这个貌似和地域有关。new york asc 点多，对walk-in见怪不怪. 可能和移民多有关.

Hello,
Is there any downside of walk-in? My appointment is in PHILLY but I am
currently in a different state. I called USCIS and they said I can walk-in
an ASC that's close to me. Will it affect my application?

Any ASC is fine。
no impact.

Thanks lizacchen! I called USCIS and was told walk-in to any center is fine.
But I read some of the "walk-in" posts. It looks like I will have to try my
luck. Some centers will not let me in w/o an appointment even if I explain
to them - show them my travel itinerary.
