Celebrating Poetry Within Reach in Unexpected Places
The Pasadena Rose Poets celebrate Poetry Within Reach in Unexpected Places.
They will discuss eye-opening experiences from their role as “Citizen Poets
” at weekly City Council meetings, which began in February. This gathering
of culturally diverse poets and poetry lovers enriches our work and
communities in Pasadena and beyond. Featuring poets Teresa Mei Chuc, Mel
Donalson, Kate Gale, Hazel Clayton Harrison, Gerda Govine Ituarte, Shahe
Mankerian and Carla Sameth.

Royal Tea Party
Future kings, queens, princes and princesses, come dressed in your finery
for a very special visit from the 2018 Tournament of Roses Rose Queen and
Royal Court. The court will share their favorite princess stories and recent
New Year’s experiences. Bring a camera and a smile to pose with royalty.

The Amazing Incredible Shrinking Ukulele
Join us for a special afternoon storytime with children’s author, Thornton

SAS Film Festival
Join us for a week of fi lm screenings and script readings! In partnership
with Secret Admirer Society, we’ll also showcase films created by kids; the
kids’ films will be shown at the beginning of Wednesday’s program. This
annual event is a celebration of international filmmakers who sympathize
with the ideals of equality for women, people of color and the LGBTQ
community.
