新开户的话要申请margin账户的

Which means the transaction will be settled on 6/3.
Usually it's not true. You can sell it right away with Fidelity.
Why dont you check with scottrade customer service?
PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THE MARGIN ACCOUNT IF YOU ARE STILL ASKING THE

普通帐户的话，买了股票可以马上卖掉。卖股票的钱要3个工作日才可以再次买股票。

yes, you can sell the stock within the same day before settlement. and you
also can buy another stock with the unsettled fund; however, you cannot sell
that other stock before the original settlement day. I have done this many
times with my Scottrade IRA account.

我今天遇到和LZ类似的问题。我用的是Merrill Edge，他们customer service的人说，
因为我没有margin account, 我不能在3天之内卖掉我刚刚买的股票。
另外我想问，对于有margin account的人来说，同一只股，一点点加仓，一点点减仓，
如果这些发生在同一天，可以吗？
