I was quite amazed to find out that my school would not sponsor CPT for my
summer intern. The only way to do it is OPT. But the problem is, I had applied
for a half year's OPT after I graduated from my master's program. Do I still
qualify for another year under my JD?

I think the best way to deal with this problem is to talk with your Dean of
Student Affairs. I was in similar situation earlier this semester. (My school
offered on course for which students are allowed to register for CPT purposes
and each student was allowed to take advantage of it for no more than once. I
used it for last summer's internship.) Obviously I was quite concerned about
work authorization for this coming summer. The ISSO at my school advised me to
apply for OPT. I (actually we, a c

I am confused. CPT can be full-time job. why do you need to take a course to
have CPT?

The following is the requirements posted at the website of the ISSO at my
school:
"To be eligible for Curricular practical training, you must:
1. have been in legal status in 9 consecutive months
2. your employment must be an intergal part of your degree program or
requirement for a course
3. have a job offer related to your major or field of study."
I guess doing an internship is not "an intergal part" of our degree program
(at least it is the case at my school), therefore, the only
