我在salt lake city 飞机场 Hertz 租一辆midsize 车开车在yellowstone，glacier
park， grand teton park 玩了7天。
发现车的main.req. 灯亮了。不知怎么回事，开起来没有问题，但心里没底，有点担心
车况。尤其还是带着我妈妈。
回到租车处，checkin，我要求Hertz 人员在我的receipt上签字说明车子的问题。
她写了：engin light on 并签了字。
我买了collosion damage waiver 保险。
请问这种情况是不是Hertz rent problematic car to customer。
可不可以要求索赔。

The general principle of "no harm, no foul" probably applies here. If OP did
not suffer any damages, I don't see how he can successfully recover
anything from Hertz. Nominal/punitive are also unlikely.

agree. i don't think s/he can make a case in court.
the best thing is to file a complaint and very likely s/he
will get some sort of compensation (voucher?) from hertz for
his/her unhappy experience with their rental car.
