I think he is in "Wen Ke". In 1992, there is ~ 80,000 test takers totally
including "Wen Ke" (~20,000) and "Li Ke"(60,000). The No.1 of Zhejiang "Li
Ke" 1992 went to Fudan Univ. As far as I Know, certainly it is not that
important. He is Niu Bi enough. Hehe.

I agree.
That is as good as a medal from the international olympic games. I don't
see any problem listing it. He can be justifiably proud of that achievement
, especially because it's No. 1 in ZheJiang Province, where墨客骚人云集.
As to the table-tennis ranking, it's nice to have it there to balance the
potential danger of being regarded as just a nerd due to the 1/80000
academic ranking.
The only thing that puzzled me was why he went to PKU to study Germany
instead of international business or law

This gentleman is the husband of one of my schoolmates, who has been working
for a top5 NYC law firm for a few years.

first of all, Kirkland is an excellent firm but top5 of NYC? I don't think
so unless your friend were talking about bonus they gave to associate.
second, almost every Chinese JD in top 14 school has done exceptionally well
in academic, but no one ever list his GaoKao score on the resume.
third, he obviously didnt do it very well when he was in JD. Where is the
Stone scholarship? Almost every Chinese graduated from Columbia JD/LLM has
it.

wife, who has been practicing in a top5 NYC law firm for a few years.
If you just read his profile, you will see his admission in NY is still "
pending." Therefore he cannot be practicing "for a few years."
As to the law school grades, who gives it a damn as long as you graduate
from Columbia? Maybe he was just focusing on other activities. Or maybe he
was just unlike many of his schoolmates. Moreover, if you don't

Man, so many Niu Bi guys in this world. He is the founder of a company, a
vice president of another compay, why bother to become a lawyer and get an
MBA? As a partner in a law firm says, entrepreneur (like Bill Gates) is the
best job on the earth, lawyer (like him) is the second best, hehe, his

事实证明了本科不是名牌大学出来的经过努力也可以出人头地。
合肥工大毕业那位在本科毕业后又奋斗了若干年才拿到harvard的JD，
现在就不会有人去关心他本科是否北大清华毕业的了。

Two possibilities:
First, because you bombed on your GaoKao and did not get into PKU/TSU, you
admire everyone who graduated from those schools especially if they were No.
1 in the test.
Do you know how many PKU/TSU graduates in top JD program? More than half is
a safe guess. Normally you need to score in the top 100 in your province to
get into those schools unless you are from Beijing. Hugh difference between
No.1 and No.100? Really? For a test you did 15 years ago?
Or maybe you were in the new

1. This guy is a senior associate and a jerk. He gives junior associates
assignments to work on during weekends and is difficult to work with.
2. People in the office are still baffled by his decision to put his College
Entrance Exam rank on his bio page.

I guess that means he is an average USATT member and may have played in the
tournament a few times. Cannot say how well he plays based on that because
I never played with a USATT member.
I played once in our university's tournament and then went to the regional
tournament. Not the same as USATT tournament I am afraid. Two Germans
played better than me. But they played in Clubs back in Germany. I beat
the rest.
