Here is the house. It is green and white. It has a red
door. Here is the family. Mother, Father, Dick, and Jane live in the green-
and-white house. They are very happy."
traditional American dream life
("Our innocence and faith were no more productive than his (his father's)
lust or despair.") 結語There is really nothing more to say-except why. But
since why is difficult to handle, one must take refuge in how.
(Dandelions) "The dandelions at the base of the
telephone pole. Why, she wonders, do people call them weeds? She thought
they were pretty. But grown-ups say, "Miss Dunion keeps her yard so nice.
Not a dandelion anywhere." ... Nobody loves the head of a dandelion. Maybe
because they are so many, strong, and soon."
某些種族 because they are so many, strong, and soon.
We are
independent and tough.
The
first twigs are thin, green, and supple. They bend into a complete circle,
but will not break.
Their delicate, showy hopefulness shooting from forsythia and lilac bushes
meant only a change in whipping style. They beat us differently in the
spring."
were no more productive than his (his father's) lust or despair (指Pecola父
Mr. Henry
laughed the grown-up-ready-to-lie laugh. A heh-heh we knew well.
We won't." Mr.
Frieda "Should we? Tell Mama?"
I knew that the doll
represented what they thought was my fondest wish. I was bemused with the
thing itself, and the way it looked. What was I supposed to do with it?
Pretend I was its mother? I had no interest in babies or the concept of
motherhood. I was interested only in humans my own age and size."
