Like Hegel, Schopenhauer place importance on the idea of will. Will is the
driving force that make things happen for both the natural world and for
people.
Schopenhauer's distinction between will and observable reality correspond to
Kant's distinction between the phenomenal and noun entail worlds. Will is
what actually exist( noumena) but observable reality( phenomena) is what
appears to us.
Schopenhauer called Hegel's work " stupid and inept".
