Damn, anyone tried successfully recover from a T61???# Linux - Linux 操作系统

1: I had ubuntu 8.1 installed, with a few different partitions.
2: I didn't do anything in particular, just went to the thinkAdvantage,
chose to recover and waited... after about 2 minutes, it popped up a window
that says "%s failed to recover the system".
I googled, and http://www.beezmo.com/ThinkPadT61.htm says that I should have made a "recover copy" right after I received the machine, but, damn, long story short, I don't have a magic recover cd.
So what can I do???

No yah.
But it refuses to restore. Always gives me an error message. "%s failed to
recover your system". :(
Do I have to have a recovery cd/dvd?

my guess is ubuntu changed the configuration of your hard disk.
why do you want to recover anyway?
windows is very stable now and you don't need to reinstall for at least 3
or 5 years.

My wife complained about not being able to use the ubuntu 8.1 I had on T61,
so I thought about switching it back (to vista). Oh well. :(

use vbox to install a win7 ba
it is free....
and vbox supports win7 already!
