初来炸到，请多关照！
我需要使用unix下面的matlab和jdk 1.6。
能使用virtualbox。
另外我想使用超过4g的内存，up to 8g。
我曾经看到过好像redhat可以搞很多虚拟桌面，是不是所有linux都有这个啊？

I am very happy with ubuntu 8.10 64bit + R2008b. Bench(5) give me a score of
up to 86! donno about virtualbox, but I'm happy with vmware workstation 6.5
.1(126130), its e1000 driver seems to be improved, I can get pretty good
network performance similar to the host. As for memory, any 64bit should do
8G.

most distro have the features you require, since you seem to be a beginner,
you might want to try ubuntu 64.

you might want to try ubuntu 64.
