一切的一切都发生在那个该死的早晨,以至于以后日子的早晨我基本上都不出去以防类似倒霉事情的再次发生。可是天不遂人愿,我最终发现一个人一旦摊上一件倒霉至极的事情,那么他的霉运就会永远保持下去如滔滔泛滥黄河之水源源不断永无绝期。自从那个早上开始,我认识了何蕾,我的人生从此发生了天翻地覆,斗转星移的变化。我常在晚上睡不着觉的时候流着一口小口水,幻想我的初恋将会在多么美好、多么浪漫、多么让人刻骨铭心的场景下发生,可谁想天意无常造化弄人,我们竟是在那么尴尬的情况下认识的,有时想想,我自己都觉得够奇幻。
故事是这样的,那是一个月亮还没下去,太阳还未升起的寒冬清晨,小风飕飕地吹着,空气里飘散着永远使人看不清前面十米路的雾,附近树上的积雪还没有融化,地下的水洼里也结满了坚而厚的冰。空中偶尔飞过一只鸟也是一闪即逝,丝毫不会留下对这鬼天气的依恋。这本是一个最适合人睡在温暖被卧的时刻,可就在这样的时刻我这样的懒虫竟然破例的牺牲掉我宝贵的时间加入这打开水一族的行列,我想我真他妈有病,这是我当时对自己的评价。可谁让我昨晚打牌输给了苗子,而我们当时的赌注就是谁输谁今早打开水。愿赌服输,这是作为一个男子汉应有的本色,所以我风尘仆仆的来了,正如我风尘仆仆的去。

I was asked on the same question and did not know what is the safest answer.
In fact, I did not get the offer from that school. I felt that if they
thought the difference was not large enough, it could be a bad sign for your
fate.
Personally I did not like this type of question. If you check some new hires
(even some super stars), I did not see they dreally istinguished from his
previoius work. If you go to new fields, they will come with another
question: he is not qualified for XXX work for la

gave you the ideas, which one is your situation?
This question is not smart, how do you distinguish two famous people's work
if they are working at the same area? some are related, some are not. you
can talk about your newer work if you have any, (without the formal help
from your advisor)

You must have a powerful advisor.
Well, let's speculate about the subtexts. Your advisor is an established
expert in field A. You have published a number of high impact paper in this
field. Will you be able to still work along that path once you have your own
lab? Will you still be competitive in terms of publishing in elite journals
and obtaining funding. I'd focus on two points:
(1) the take-away part you have negotiated with your advisor (short-term)
(2) your unique background and interest (l
