First, there is no "half month" payment. It is, actually, "bi-weekly
payment". There are 52 weeks a year. You actually pay 26 times, or
one more month than your normal mortgage.
Second, there are 2 types of bi-weekly payment: A third party company
who sets up bi-weekly payment for you, or, your mortgage company who
creates a bi-weekly payment plan for you.
Either way your REAL mortgage will not be changed. Same company
