我的研究是交叉方向，和三个系都有关，但在这些系都不是传统方向。在投申请的过程
中，如果我的研究和广告上的方向不是非常符合但也扯的上，可以问search committee
chair吗？
e.g. My research is AAA, I think it's relevant to BBB because CCC. Do you my
research falls under the scope of the search (i.e. do you think I should
apply?)
如果有认识的人（不熟，只是知道我的工作，或者和我的老板熟）在该系，如何问
insight比较professional？
