从牛校往下跳还是比较容易的，从公司跳，又曾经拒过offer，就不是那么容易了

当年的chair现在已经不是chair了，而且现在人在国外。我的确先联系他的，他建议我

I think this is off. The department is interested in why OP (楼主) wants to
join now, not why s/he did not join at that time.
