标 题: H1B和OPT可以一起申请吗?

刚拿到offer,三月初答辩,四月中上班。公司那边超级快,已经给我联系好律师让我
把材料寄过去申请H1B。我问他们OPT能不能一起申请?他们的意思让我两个一起申请,
这样H1B批了就不需要OPT了,不批的话就用OPT。我不知道这样同时申请会不会影响OPT
的审批。另外如果今年四月一号之前递H1B,那就是用2010年的名额?
H1B和OPT交税有区别吗?我刚好满五年,所以是不是就没区别了?

REO的property,
我们砍了大概5000刀,seller只愿意降1700刀;
而且不包括Wood Destroying Insect Report ,
retrofit cost,
home warrenty plan;
Supplemental Contractual and Statutory Disclosure (C.A.R. Form SSD);
Wood Destroying Pest Inspection and Allocation of Cost Addendum (C.A.R. Form
WPA);
这是不是一个bad的counter offer?怎么处理呢?大家有什么经验吗?多谢!

H1B批了不是10月1号才生效吗?从4月到9月还得用OPT吧?

All depends on how much you like that property and how is the housing market
in your area.
In my case, two REO properties that I bid, one I offered 8k below asking and
counter offer comes up with only a 800 price reduction, finally the listing
agent are now working on 3800 reduction (I will know by tomorrow hopefully)
; Another one I offered with asking price, but got multiple offers
including cash offer situation, and now I just submitted another offer which
is 11k above asking price.

4月一号之前的话是不是就是用现在的名额?上年没用完的话我就可以直接H1b了,这么
猜得。。。

我们在南加,因为这个condo在一个很像国内的complex里面,所以比较喜欢。城市应该
还不错,但是这个property所属的学区很差分到另一个劳模多的城市。我们目前没有小
孩。想问下大师,如果答应了counter offer里面的东西,到时候有什么问题是不是很
麻烦?

可以一起申请 但是10年的h1b名额不多了 要申请的话现在开始都不知道来得及不
要不然就只能等4月申请11年的 10月生效

如果是codonde 话有必要检查白蚁吗?一直都不知道这个问题,以为townhouse和SFH才
特别在意白蚁?

谢谢,公司的意思是今年不行就明年,反正材料弄好了律师去忙乎。如果两个确定可以
同时申请,那么我就一起递上去算了。谢谢

学区很差的房子不要买, 没什么升值潜力的.

I am in SouCal as well, are you talking about northern diamond bar? it
belongs to Pomona school district.
REO is pretty much sale as is, you can't do anything: you either accept it
or just walk away after your inspection

elementary school is good in north diamond bar, but DB High in south Diamond
Bar is one of the best in SoCal.

As bed said, elementary is good, but high school is not, you will go to

southern diamond bar belong to walnut school district and their high
school is really good

On the base the school performances, How to quantify the difference in

Yes, it's around 50K to 70K.

Location, location, location!!!

Reject his counter offer. Be prepare to walk away.
Right now it is buyer's market. The housing price might still go down in
near future. Plenty of houses on market. No need to settle.
