AT&T DSL basic claims uptp 768k. In fact, 99% in my home is 66K.

Hate AT&T, it was same slow speed for me and quit.

I never had problem with DSL. Always had problems with cable
How did you test?

DSL 768k is bps (bit per second). Your test speed 66k is bps (byte per
second). One byte is 8 bit, got it? So you acutal speed is 66*8=528k, within
the range.

How do YOU know the 66k is the byte per second, but NOT 66k bit per second?

in IE download dialog box shows KB/s
and when you are downloading from a random website, there are too many
variables other than your bandwidth that can affect the download speed.
for reliable test result, use:
