下个星期要搬家了，要租个uhaul truck，不知道要不要买保险.以前看人讨论过,但是
找不到帖子了.我自己车的保险只有libility,另外我要用AmericanExpress租车.请懂的

Checked two comparison websites, one gives 103,539, another gives 114,800;
so you can consider 60k in St. Louis is equivalent to 100 - 110k in bay area.

驾照可以开。Uhual的truck算是超重vehicle，绝大部分的保险和几乎全部的信用卡都
不cover。

Hard to say, depends on your expense. If you're single and have no intent to buy a house, then 60k in St. Louis may only be worth 80k in San Jose; if you have a family to raise and consider buying a house, then 60k in St. Louis is worth at least 150k in San Jose. So on average, I think the comparison does have a point.

看来开销差距主要还是在买房和教育

一般来说不会出事，不过如果想要安心一点就买咯，反正也不贵

我觉得 多挣的钱其实存在房子里面了，假设房价不剧烈波动的话
退休的时候都把房子卖了搬到便宜的地方去，那区别就出来了 ：P

Uhal那好像有10来块的保险，还是买个比较好
大车难开，万一磕着碰着就麻烦了
我家上次租车就买了，结果还真蹭着了，如果自己修也要几百，幸好保险cover了

A nice assumption, unfortunately not always true :) Also, you paid more mortgage interest and probably more property tax if the house price is high.

I think $30K difference is about right.
STL 60K = Silicon Valley 90K in living standard.

得先问自己的保险公司
像AAA，extended warranty保12000磅以内的车
10ft以上的U-Haul估计都不行了
另外买U-Haul自己的保险最好是贵点的那种
最便宜的那个只报U-Haul的车损

有一点不太清楚，是不是可以责任险用自己的车险，再买一个U-Haul的车损险(CDW)?
（我不太愿意用自己的comprehensive，应为自己的deductable太高了($1000）

depends on how you define "living standard"; the factors you listed are not necessarily attractive to other Chinese as to you.
