Sony's The Interview has made $31 million in streaming revenues, becoming
Sony Pictures' number one online film of all time.
Through it's first week and a half of release, The Interview has been rented
or purchased a total of 4.3 million times, reports CNN. The movie made 15
million in online revenue in its first four days, adding another 16 million
over its second week.
Since the controversial comedy's limited release, it has also expanded to
over 500 theaters where it's grossed just over 5 million. Total, it's
generated $36 million in revenue.
The movie is currently available on a number of streaming services,
including Google Play, YouTube, Xbox Video, and iTunes. It's also available
from cable, satellite, and telecom providers.
