正在写第一个grant，
征求同事的意见，结果得到非常矛盾的意见
我的第一页花了大概半页引入要做什么，讲背景，证明topic的重要性，很多（~100）引
文
一个同事说很好，感觉我对这个topic有深入理解
一个同事坚持说第一页最好不要有引文，有也少之又少，内容不变，去掉引文，不然看
起来像是background page
不知道谁对，还是无所谓

其实offer都很好，但是涉及到未来的不确定性。it is uncertainty that causes
depression and anxiety, not the offers themselves.
therefore, think about a future that I (or you) truly want. make efforts to
make it happen.

What kind of grant? NIH? If it is R01, you just need to remember that
there is no background section for a reason.

能展开说说为什么没有background section么？

一般人引用的时候列几个最关键的以及最早的就行了。
但是你要多列的话我也不会有意见的（如果我是审评者的话）。

Because for R01 grant, background need to be to the point within the
significant section. Background that does not contribute anything to the
significance of particular research should not be included in the grant.
