no, not 富贵病. it actually includes 2 diseases, ulcerative colitis (uc) and
crohn's disease (cd). etiology is unknown. i think there are arguments on
both autoimmune-like triggers and viral etiologies.
uc is mostly bloody diarrhea. many people with uc can have spontaneous
remission, even if not, it can be cured by surgically removing the colon.
and the colon will need to be removed after 10 years of uc anyway to prevent
the development or colon cancer.
cd on the other hand is a life-time disea
