1）刚交了Dossier，但是不知道是否能上，总体材料一般，不是很Strong, Paper 还行
，funding不多，算刚刚及格，service 一般，和系里面关系也一般。不知道这种情况
是安静地等消息，还是其他学校有合适的也可以申请？个人怕圈子很小，申请的话，本
系就可能知道了。还是最后一年申请是Normal practice 系里面知道也无所谓？
2）其他学校是不是等我的学校给了Tenure的决定，才肯给Tenure? 如果我的学校不给
，他们是否也不给了阿？

可是我之前在开卡的时候保存了一份网页，上面没这么说啊
到底是必须花$1500才能拿到miles呢，还是不需要花这么多？

又是新一年，上 market的时候到了。

Why not go on the market? What can you lose? Isn't it expected that people
will apply for other institutions during the year when they are up for
tenure? Wouldn't it be better to have an offer from another institution to
pressure your current institution? I thought it is a norm (just my two cents
).

这个每个学校都有自己的Expectation. 我们学校有这个定量的要求，多少文章，多少
Grant etc.

找系里关系还行的senior探探口风，呆了几年了，不至于一个能坐下来聊聊的同事都没
有吧。
如果真的没有，那我还是劝你早去外边找工作吧，一来是tenure会比较悬，二来这种地
方呆着还有啥意思。

好像2不是问题。很多人这样做。这年找的意思也不是攀高枝，还有找备胎的意思。

我觉得不能像fresh phd那样海投吧。。可以通过一些认识的人内部悄悄地投，基本上
有一些把握的。。
