看了M校某第三年 AP，已经有 4个 postdoc,，6个学生还有一个秘书。就这个规模一年
没有 1.5-2M 是不可能维持的。
再一看学生3个是自己有 NSF的fellow，剩下的要么有学校的fellow要么有公司的
fellow。postdoc也有2个自己带钱的。
另外第三年他还没有做PI的NSF or DOE,但是加入本校的centers也能分不少钱。
就这种起步条件，要是tenrue标准和烂校一样，那M小很快就会成为烂校。

有些牛校的tenure标准不高，但是找人门槛很高，一样还是牛校

门槛高不高很难说有用
去top30的和去top100的ap真有本质区别么，我看没有
牛校的能做到牛，基本还是因为学生水平高，研究环境、条件好

出身非top10的，除非有其它的路子，去top100学校基本没戏

这说的太绝对了，排名50到100这个区间的学校里大批不是top10出来的教授。

别为了蝇头小利而被别人盗用身份，once you give them your bank account
password,
they know everything about you, you account number, your address, all your
transaction history... I don't think people dare to use their service.
BTW, should this referral be banned?
