The grocery store manager is responsible bearing other costs and profit. At
large, any business that can exist must have unequal resources. The top
goal for any business is to gain a profit as long as it is legal.
Now back to your case:
The businessman has his own channel to distribute tickets, to market
products/services and to sustain his own costs and risks. There is nothing
wrong with it so long as he is not taking advantage because of fraudulence,
money laundry, evaporating taxes etc.
Because of the inequity of the resources, he is going to charge a premium on
it and that is totally fine. If the profit is high enough, many more
competitions jump in and that is the only way.
In addition, the biggest unfairness is to compensate the same for different
people. If you were a CS Ph.D, do you want to get paid equally as a third-
grade laborer? Because of the value difference, or perceived value difference, you can earn more and you should earn more.
