I still think I am bad at negotiating... any suggestions?
This is how it went:
HR: Congratulations. Your starting salary is $x......Just keep in mind you
might not be able to get good bonus in the first 12 months because it takes
time for you to get established in the area.
Me: My quarterly bonus is usually $x/4, so I'd like to have $x++ just to
help me a little.
HR: It's impossible to get $x++. If you are really making that much in bonus
, maybe you should stay in your current position.
Me: (showed HR proof on how much I make in quarterly bonus for the past 3
quarters) How about upper $x's?
HR: Tell me exactly how much you want.
Me: How about just $x+?
HR: Let me make a couple phone calls.

记得以前看，网上是说，citi的卡最好用到18-24个月，然后关卡半年以后再申比较容
易被批。是这样吗？

I think you are assuming $x is high. Some sales position is 100% commission.

一般而言，都是要过一段时间才能申请新的卡，就是citi在他的系统中查不到您以前有
这个卡。所以越早关，越早能再申请。

You will likely never deal with the HR who recruited you again after you join. The HR reps for employees are usually different than the recruiting HR if the
company is not very small.
HR is not that easily offended. She's just doing her job. She doesn't pay you. Don't be shy negotiating with her. She wants you to join after starting the process with you. There is no way she wants to throw you away because that position might then be filled by people recruited by other HRs.
