All points earned from Southwest credit card spending count toward companion
pass. Only Southwest Premier credit card (personal/business) will earn tier
qualifying points. If you earn points by credit card spending then A+ and
companion pass is completely different. You can get companion pass without
any tier qualifying points. Log in to your account at Southwest, click my
account, then my rapid rewards, on left had side under My Rapid Rewards
Summary you will see Tier status and companion pass status. If you don't
have someone to fly with you (kid, gf, etc) then it's useless to you, but
for a family is very valuable.
