我也来发一个虎爹虎妈……非挖坑，绝对真实
老板夫妇，均为系里正教授，华人，膝下一儿一女，龙凤胎。
今年申请，结果如下：
儿子：所有学校全中，包括harvard, mit, stanford, caltech
SAT1, SAT2, ACT全满分，拿奖拿到手麻，目前从事CS研究，paper数篇，一篇一作的去
年拿了best student paper award，秒杀所有研究生。目前正在全国数个大学给invited talk
女儿：所有学校全中，包括harvard, yale, princeton, stanford
SAT2接近满分，其他满分。拿奖拿到手麻，作为全州的2个代表之一参加US Senate
Youth Program，全国辩论比赛第6. 上个星期在白宫会见obama跟steven chu
其他事迹包括：姐弟俩同时参加州内的某竞赛，全州共4个冠军，他家拿了2个。。。
老板这周的组会都取消了，说儿子又拿了某某奖，儿子正在外面给talk，老爸要代为领
奖

试了一张500 vanilla。确实可以。小二不太会，叫来经理也不确定，完了还拿receipt
仔细看，估计确认是不是debit。没敢搞第二张。

挺牛的。不过我也同意华人不缺top engineer,top scientist.再过个几十年，诺贝尔
奖应该也会更多。不过真的需要多一些从政的，和corporate里的高层。我看老墨政客
就不少，老印在公司里高层也不少。华人需要多加油，不过ABC对中国/中华民族的bond
我感觉也比其它族群要差一些。

我认识这两个孩子，现在男孩1米87，女孩有1米7，长得都还不错。两年前有次一起去
参加seminar，晚上大家一块出去吃饭，经过一个grocery store我进去买了一些水果，
同行的另外两个大块头男生看我提了东西，没有任何帮忙的意思，而这个小男孩却过来
帮我提东西，让我感觉这孩子的家教好好啊。。。

别人不知道，反正俺没什么特别的心态，就是惋惜。俺爹妈也是俩教授，好学校的, so
what?! 俺就看不上教授! 就知道学术,研究.
这种天资，想不通干嘛个个都要当科学家。不是说男孩CS研究的么？我又没乱加预
测。
我的某亲戚哥哥，从小什么奖没拿过？大牛人一个，学位越念越高。现在呢？学校里
一蹲就再也不走了，泯然众人矣。我的亲戚弟弟，二流学校本科而已，年纪轻轻公
司VP.

Have been loading GB at RA for more than one year.
Couple of points:
1. Never never let the cashier scan your prepaid card!!! Otherwise, you will
be charged but no money goes to your prepaid card.
2. If the cashier does not know how to do this, ask s/he select "Department"
, then "Prepaid card".
3. After cashier choose prepaid card, you select the type of card (some has
fees, some hasn't), and then swipe your prepaid card. The cashier enter
amount to load, and you swipe your GC to load.
4. $500 per transaction, and daily loading limit was set by the card issuer.
(I always do $2000 per visit).

生活压力小，轻松，精神生活丰富啊。
做父母的，孩子轻轻松松生活多好。

Walmart always has this policy, not allowing gift card to do debit load,

another good thing is that the receipt does not show the total balance on
the card, so you do not get that weird look on cashier's face

WM still has Kate (though not at each store) which draws less attention than
dealing directly with people. Loading at Cashier usually triggers store's
alert (like RedBird), especially when people keep hitting at a "win or go

if you can load $100 but not $200, and you are not over limit, that would
prove it
this limit is usually set by the issuer, which in this case is AMEX.

US Bank 的mastercard怎么设pin? 找到几张2年前买的卡，发现已经被收了不少月费
。今天去load serve，没有pin没法load。
另外，我在加州，收月费是合法的吗？

load上的话立刻收到email说successful。还是挺方便的。话说大妈一开始坚持cash
only，说没见过用debit load的，我说就让我试试吧才让load。

可能是第一次pin没改好，可以找人工跟他说下，给你取消lock什么的，然后就可以用了

after you try the PIN unsuccessfully several times, the card will be blocked.
it is a security mechanism. you have to talk to CSR to unblock it.
BTW, got another bad $500 US Bank VGC at Ralphs in a long while, hated it.

不是，我想做split tender，小儿说split tender容易出错，她宁愿做separate
transactions。所以，我做了12次separate transactions，每次load $200或$100。店
里人少，小儿不介意做separate transactions。

card 灰卡, 然后去 riteaid load 这500块到 one vip serve, pin 随便打?
