几个月前，有一天发现信用卡被盗用。立即打电话给信用卡公司。信用卡公司立即关了
卡。两月后收到信用卡公司的信告诉我我不用对这笔charge负责。
今天收到一封讨债信。看来是这个公司被这笔charge卖给了讨债公司。信上说给我30天
内写信给他们disput. 否则就是默认这笔charge有效。
第一次收到这种信。因为我没在那个公司买过东西。不知道如何证明不是我。
大家有什么建议？

正常步骤是给他回信让他证明是你，用挂号信，网上有模板。

谢谢。在网上找了这个sample:
Dear [Debt Collection Company],
I am writing in response to a letter from you dated [dd/mm/yy], a copy is
attached.
If you have reason to believe that a valid debt exists and that the Debtor
resides at this address, then please prove the debt in writing.
You are prohibited by Law from continuing any collection activity until you
have done so. Failure to obey the Law in this regard will render you liable
to prosecution for harassment.

当时给信用卡公司打电话时，他们说是一个电话order. 这种信用卡被盗用的情况应该
谁负责。信用卡公司把charge去掉了。是不是只能靠我自己和这个讨债公司打下去了。

Found this online:
Credit Cardholders Liability Limited
If you own a credit card, you can rest easy. Congress enacted the Fair
Credit Billing Act, or FCBA, so that you won’t have to worry about
shouldering the large burden of a fraudulent charge. Under the FCBA, if your
credit card is stolen or has an unauthorized use, the most that you can be
liable for is $50. If you report the theft of your credit card before any
loss occurs, however, your liability drops down to $0. If your credit card
number is stolen, but not your card, you will not be liable for any
authorized use. Since online credit card fraud is growing, it is likely you
will be a victim of a stolen card number than the theft of your physical
credit card. Either way, you have federal protections that limit your losses.
My card number was stolen and used. So this part is clear now.

Update:
Mailed letter, copy of credit card company fraud filing letters to the
collection company in registered mail. Never hear from them again since.
