get off the plane before choosing who to involuntarily remove from the
flight. And I hope they raised the offer significantly and made a real
effort to solicit volunteers. I also hope that the police warned him that he
would be dragged off the flight if he didn’t get off voluntarily."

飞机上看到还有空位置,也就是说还有人没有上飞机, 为什么不在还没有登机的人中
找, 而去找一个已经坐到自己位置上的人?只能说处理这个问题的经理要么没有经验
, 要么情商极低。
很多时候不是对与错的问题, 这个很明显对UA的PR造成很大影响, 至少我以后是不会
坐UA了,对顾客这么粗暴,离越远越好

一般来说给到800.1000就肯定有人下去了,但是假如像这种情况,没人愿意下去,给多
少钱都不愿意的话,ua自己买票卖超了,已经登机的人都有checkin也有座号了,这不
就相当于ua和顾客之间形成了一种契约关系,如果ua这时候在拖乘客下去,不就相当于
ua他自己违约了嘛,怎么看现在united的twitter好像是他们overbook他们拖人还占理
了?

反正偶赶上过一次ua系统紊乱cancel了n多航班,一律以天气原因不给乘客旅馆,一机
场人不少都等了超过24小时还坐不上飞机

都登机并坐满等待离开登机口,机长广播,目的地天气不好,按美国FAA要求必须下去4
个人。然后就问有没有自愿下去的,每人有200补偿。同时宣布,如果凑不齐4位,将从

overbook在这里不适用,这个飞机并没有overbook, 是UNITED想让自己的员工坐这趟飞
机。 既然这4个员工不是这趟飞机的crew, 他们没有道理有任何优先权。 他们只是
standby, 没有道理让买票的让位standby。很明显, united screwed up.

the checkin desk(1 hour plus 2 mins), they told me the luggage truck already
left, and not let me check bags. Then I said I can board without checking
bags. They said less than 1 hour left, system close.
Another time, I took UA87, the entertainment system didn't work for whole
plane, LOL

接跟小二大吵,就像内华达民兵集体对抗联邦执法部门一样不了了之。

关键这个可不是单纯overbook啊
这是UA自己要把员工塞进来运到目的地上班,于是开始找乘客volunteer
overbook那也是乘客多了,登机前开始喊volunteer,哪里会搞到登机完去拽人
一般航司能干出这样的事?不少飞机都给自己员工预留几个座位吧
上次坐delta,delta plus空出来的座位就给飞行员用了,结果有两个乘客登机牌给打
成一样了,后来空姐让飞行员换个座位,他那个给乘客了

plane.
1. First of all, it's airline spin to call this an overbooking. The
statutory provision granting them the ability to deny boarding is about "
OVERSALES", specifically defines as booking more reserved confirmed seats
than there are available. This is not what happened. They did not overbook
the flight; they had a fully booked flight, and not only did everyone
already have a reserved confirmed seat, they were all sitting in them. The
law allowing them to denying boarding in the event of an oversale does not
apply.
2. Even if it did apply, the law is unambiguously clear that airlines have
to give preference to everyone with reserved confirmed seats when choosing
to involuntarily deny boarding. They have to always choose the solution that
will affect the least amount of reserved confirmed seats. This rule is
straightforward, and United makes very clear in their own contract of
carriage that employees of their own or of other carriers may be denied
boarding without compensation because they do not have reserved confirmed
seats. On its face, it's clear that what they did was illegal-- they gave
preference to their employees over people who had reserved confirmed seats,
in violation of 14 CFR 250.2a.
3. Furthermore, even if you try and twist this into a legal application of
250.2a and say that United had the right to deny him boarding in the event
of an overbooking; they did NOT have the right to kick him off the plane.
Their contract of carriage highlights there is a complete difference in
rights after you've boarded and sat on the plane, and Rule 21 goes over the
specific scenarios where you could get kicked off. NONE of them apply here.
He did absolutely nothing wrong and shouldn't have been targeted. He's going
to leave with a hefty settlement after this fiasco.

你错了, 这些人是deadheading working crew, 必须要上飞机,不然第二天早上从目
的地起飞的那航班就会全部被取消。
如果是deadheading,那么这些人也是positive space, 在UA内部priority高于positive
space revenue customers
基本上last min赶航班的crew都会让gate agent hold the door, 好让他们先上飞机再
把人拦在外面。但是不知道什么原因这次没有,crew和ground staff没有沟通好。但踢
人也是合法的,尽管方法错误

一般情况下,dh是很早就定好了positive space,需要上级批准。跟revenue pax没啥两
样,所以不会牵涉到rev customers。ground dh也是,需要上级批准,很少有last min。
前面我说了,我看到这几个crew是EWR-SDF的flight被cancel,了,所以既定的dh取消,
至于航班什么原因取消不知道,他们属于last min dh又碰到了一架满载的飞机,导致
本来的positive space变成了negative space, 这个应该是crew scheduling出了差错
。其次,gate agent没有把好门,让乘客都上去了。至于上了飞机以后踢rev pax,这个

再插一句,机组人员生活也是很悲催的,很多时候要求gate agent不要太早关门。gate
agent是最受气的一帮人,所以脾气非常极端,我碰到过极好和极坏的,对待自己机组
人员也是如此。权力比较大。但是大部分时候gate agent对crew scheduling不知情,
导致他们也无法回答飞机为何晚点或者取消
min。

好像临时charter ground没有这么困难吧

他们是临时调度的四个人。我看到UA当场解释是如果四人不上机,明天一早航班就会全
部取消。

是晚上5点40到了?那时候定其他航班应该没法保证positive space, UA能做的只有

至于有多难,我真的不知道了。我不认识crew scheduling员工。我认识的crew member
从来没有last min ground dh经验,他们也很疑惑为什么dh会和positive space pax冲

说到short notice, 这些应该都是在UA hub附近的才能当场调度( Chicago, Denver,
Guam, Houston, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco, Tokyo and D.C)

首先是这么短时间不能完全怪地勤或者gate agent,他们要处理登机还要为调度出问题
擦屁股。按照我在美国的体会,一般一线工作人员是非常死脑筋的,安排的Routine事
情会去认真做,但是如果一有意外情况(比如零时更改)就容易mess up。所以这事情
调度的责任也很大(毕竟需要他们用脑做出决策)。
其次UA有滥用权力之嫌。虽然飞机上crew权力最大,但是一般是对飞机的安全这方面有
绝对处理权,很明显这次事件跟飞行安全没有任何关系,就是为了安排自己的crew牺牲
普通乘客的利益和时间。paid passenger不应该为UA的调度失误负责或者做出牺牲。肯
定会有其他方法解决,不过对于UA来说这种方法最简单(因为他们对处理有解释权)。
所以今后在这儿应该划线,这种UA内部临时调度造成的超员不应该影响paid passenger。

: 普通乘客的利益和时间。paid passenger不应该为UA的调度失误负责或者做出牺牲。肯
: 定会有其他方法解决,不过对于UA来说这种方法最简单(因为他们对处理有解释权)。
