why do you want to have an exchange scholar from China? Don't you know the
purpose of their visit? All they need is to have an one year "experience" in
U.S to be considered as a "returnee" and get better promotion in
universities in China.
This reminds me about a funny story last year. My graduate adviser got an
email from an associate dean from one of the famous northwestern
universities in China, who wanted to "work" with my adviser as an exchange
scholar. My adviser was really hoping he could help do some research here
and help our project, so he asked me to find more about this associate dean
including his publications and research background. I googled his name
online, and found this dude registered on several forums online. On these
forums, this dude had already started asking how to bring his wife and son
to U.S, how to enroll his son to good private schools in U.S., how to apply
for a tourism visa for his parents, how to benefit from the health care
system in U.S., which cruise is the best suitable for his family...
Then I just told my adviser, don't hope that he can do anything for you here
. He is gonna enjoy his life in U.S, and believe me, he will try to bring
all his family members here...
