most of mics are lo-z, but there are hi-z mics
this is very very complicated stuff. bascially
lo-z (z is impedence) mic can be connected to
a lo-z mixer directly using an XLR cable. but
if you hook it up to your guitar amp it won't
sound right because guitar amp needs hi-z input,
so you can buy a lo-z>hi-z transformer to make
it work that way. or you can buy a hi-z mic
to connect directly. the problem w/ that is
guitar amp doesn't use XLR (in case you wonder
where this came from, X - eXternal,
