尽管我这次歌录的太紧,最后效果并不好.大家也听到了.但是老师还是予以巨大的鼓励.呵
呵,也是因为上次我那个"幻像"录的太糟了.
给大家看看老师的评价吧.
Excellent work, Kodak, and I'm so impressed with your progress since
you've come here. This sounds absolutely professional and you are to be
congratulated. This is very well structured, recorded, and mixed. I never
heard of paper being used as a percussion instrument, but it really sounds
great in this piece. The builds at 1:06 and 3:10 are very well done,
especially when you start adding in the sustained sounds to driv

以前总觉得美国人说话直,有一说一,其实来了这个学校,发现美国人特别讲说话的艺术.你
看这评价给的,表面看简直没有一个词说不好.其实非常委婉的提出了修改的意见,比如"I
don't think anyone else would hear it", "Yours is ..., which is fine, too."
不光这个老师,上次我另一门电子音乐演奏课演了个大砸锅,完后大家要求上网互相评价,
结果老师,同学用的全是鼓励的字眼,并且特别认真的提出今后发展的建议,让我十分感动.
我觉得一个好的community里,互相以尊重为基础的相互勉励和建议是非常重要的.

参照你老师的评价我又听了一遍,之前我没注意到你怎么用的paper,
这次发现你paper的效果似乎是要模仿brush打出来很轻的drum roll,你实际
是怎么作出来的?是自己实时打出来的还是采样然后loop出来的?
另外,我在琢磨你老师说的more defined bass sound,好象有点那么个意思,
你的bass是有点混浊。
谢谢把这个贴出来,挺长知识。

my understanding of the combination of Drum&Bass is to make a Groovy bass
line.
I read a book "electric bass" discussing the bass line. based on that book,
the bass should have a nice fusion with drum sets to make a groove.
his teacher also talked about the recording quality of bass, that's a very
detailed description, off course, very useful.

groovy 好像含起伏的意思,我觉得好像jazz,funk更强调这个。The nice fusion
between bass and drum是个很高的境界啊,得找机会亲身体会才有得讨论。
我对bass了解非常少,准备过几年学它,平常听jazz时候比较注意些bass。

嗯,我对打鼓一窍不通,所以只是从编鼓机的角度讲。
我现在手头有3本鼓的书,其中两本是一个系列。
这两本就是我刚才在练琴用参考书里提到的 200 drum machine patterns, 260 drum
machine patterns. 这两本是以pattern作为基础,分不同乐风,
在基本编里,比如rock, 有rock 1,两个pattern 一个 break,编的时候就是A B A B
break等等。 在高级编里,对某个风格有n个单独的patterns和breaks。 所以编得时候
“随意”选pattern和breaks。 我觉得这个方案对于我们常用的FL来说很方便,
另外一本书是把鼓机分开讲,先编kick,然后OHH, CHH,tom等等, 我在FL里也看到过这
种编法,就是一个pattern(Fruitly loops
里的pattern)里专门是kick,另一个专门是crash等等,我觉得这个方法不是太直观,还
是第一个以pattern+break为基准(这里pattern 是鼓机pattern,包含所有用到鼓件),在
此基础上加其他需要的鼓的效

Good questions. I actually used fingers to hit a piece of paper with other
tracks playing along. I also used Sha1Chui2 to replace Hi-hat 'cause my drum
machine can't generate the percussive sounds that I want.
For bass sounds. Yes, my teacher explained it very clearly. If we use
Attack-Decay-Sustain-Release to describe sound envelope, the attack of my bass
is kind of too long, lack of punchy percussive effects.
I'm not happy with my vocal at all. Will redo it after I go back to china.
