Why will you stay in the hospital for 5 days? Usually you'll be discharged
in about 48 hours, or 72 hours if C-section.
Since this is the 1st baby you two will have, and grandparents will help
when you're discharged from the hospital, I'll suggest to have your husband
taken time off starting from the day when your baby is born. Beside
accompanying you he should learn basic childcare knowledge from the nurses,
fill in forms, bring special food to the hospital, and provide rides for
grandparents to visit.
I strongly suggest both of you to read about the newborn and be prepared for
the new baby. Once you know what to happen you will feel much better and
everything easier. When I had my second baby I did not need my husband to
stay with me at the hospital. Actually I felt things were better controlled
without him hanging around...
