有见过涂博遗书，熟悉国内学术圈而且文笔好的，就这个大题目
写篇通讯，投到nature/science上去，说不定会有点影响，其实

国内学校的普遍问题就是工资低
如果学校有点闲钱，把房子什么解决了还好
浙大本来是给青年教师分房子的
涂分不分房子不知道
我认识的一副教授，是等了两年，今年刚刚才拿到房子
至于职称，既然国内有评审这关，涂的教训是应该在去前把评审交上去，等批下来再去
浙大据说当年建新校区欠了一大笔，虽然卖地弄了些回来，但还是不够
所以整个学校的经费非常紧张，搞了各种缩减开支的政策
所以学校也不可能有钱来提高待遇，浙大的正教授一年拿个五六万的也大有人在

Android现在还太年轻，目前还没有特别成功的Android机器，那个HTC Hero算是一个很
大的进步，但是还不够优秀。我觉得Google应该配合自己旗下的产品，来完善Android
。我想这对Google来讲不算什么很难的事情。无论是娱乐，办公，Google的产品全都足
够了！

其实我不反对抵制浙大，我只是认为问题比浙大本身要大，是这个国家的问题。
至少我听说过1起有人去一所工科和浙大差不多的学校，人在美国时许诺教授，
报道时就是副教授，三室一厅变两室一厅。另一起是副教授的启动基金被院士
挪用，然后给院士打工。所以如果有人有第一手资料的话，
写出来，反映现在青年学者的种种困境，钱，PI资格问题，职称评审，每年发表
指标等等，投到那些大头不得不关心的杂志上，也许更有用。

介个，听上去有点盲目乐观呀，呵呵。我尝试了一下android，not so impressed。
果果做UI还是老大，三年前的东东拿下的霸主地位现在还是没有产品能撼动。三年来
iphone变化很小，就算今天，我觉得还没有任何一家能比。

I haven't tried sense. but I wasn't impressed by HTC's TouchFlo 3D.
I wasn't impressed by iPhone's UI either. Android's standard UI is good
enough for me to use.

TF3D is actually odd. You can press the icon you want.
It will always move to another icon adjacent to it.
Instead, you have to slide over to that icon. At least
this is the case on Fuze. Not intuitive UI at all.

Maybe it's improved. Did you try pressing the icons (without
sliding) at the bottom to activate an app? The icons are evasive
on Fuze.

they are great at dumb phones and hardware. but not smartphone. Most of
their "smartphones" are smarter dumb phones.

还好吧，毕竟现在买smartphone, 打电话还是很主要的，如果smartphone 打电话老掉
线的话，要来何用？
除了电话，对我来讲就是email, msn, browse web for news，就差不多了
其他的twitter, facebook, video, camera, 用用就烦了。

actually symbian is not bad. 界面比WM一致性强很多。反应也快。
可惜应用太少。I'd choose S60 over WM if S60 has the same number
of apps.

说起来我还是觉得目前wm的最好，今天盘算了一下手机，发现使用了如下功能：
1、拍照
2、录像
3、玩游戏
4、看电影（不压缩，不转码，直接播放rmvb和avi）
5、上网(opera mobile 9.7)
6、看youtube
7、更改日历提醒，查看明年春节的日期
8、看小说（兼text to speech，直接“读”中文）
9、看word文档备课
10、看powerpoint备另一门课
11、使用garmin查看堵车信息
12、使用google map看周围环境
13、差点忘了，还打了电话。
目前似乎每天用到的就是这么些了。我更喜欢用电脑写email，而且从来不用message。
以后得用手机上msn了，不然和lp联系没那么方便了。
也许android和iphone都能完成上述所有的功能，但是我不知道因为我没用过，只是更
习惯于wm而已，正如linux也能完成windows大部分的常用功能，但是由于用得不多，所
以还是更习惯于常用的windows.

我也喜欢wm更多，最重要的一点是
我可以随便刷机，选择自己喜欢的rom
也许是因为我特备爱折腾吧

browsing is not a strong point on Symbian. I don't like PIM either. I
found Google's PIM is the best IMHO.

Symbian was designed as a proper RTOS, while winmo is an afterthought.
the lack of 3rd party app on Symbian is caused by the closeness of
Symbian. I think Nokia is a hardware centric company. They don't
understand software that much, comparing to google and apple.

I don't know why people think google and apple is that good simply because a
search engine and an ipod.
one, the sponsored search revenue model is stoled (yes, steal) from yahoo (
overture) by Google. G paid huge money to Y for this, literally paying off
all Y has paid to acquire overture.
for apple, how a good software company releases a major patch days after a
new release.

maybe I got a bad apple. but I couldn't pickup ppl's phone call a couple
of times on my TP. It improves after a hard reset but syndrome came back
after a while.
google's calender and contact are pleasure to use on their website. and
I can do Over-The-Air sync with my phone. so I don't need to sync with
PC any more. you can sync google calendar with android, winmo, symbian,
webOS. but android has the best support for google's PIM.

moto's problem is not mainly on the phone, its marketing division sold the
then-hot razr at lost. razr was the best phone of moto, and should have a
big profit margin.
without profit, can't support the development of new phones.

I just read an article on businessweek. the drivers of moto's Android
commitment are a software executive moto got with Good Technology, a
silicon valley startup and their new co-ceo from san diego.

RAZR was initially a huge success and it was definitely NOT sold at lost, in
fact it reeled in a lot of cash for Moto.
Moto started to slash prices after seeing signs of decline during Q4 of 2006
but only caused huge losses in 2007.
Their problem is that they've ridden the RAZR wave for way too long, without
refreshing the product line with new innovations. Moto is never short of
cash, in fact I believe they still have severl B at hand right now. They
failed to react to the trend and also their

Sanjay Jha is an ex-Qualcomm executive, while Qualcomm has been the premier
