先祝各位发考题和即将成为发考题的各位新年快乐！
马上就要到一个学校onsite, 准备了slides给一个老板看，结果被人说得很惨，说我
trying to cover too many things,说you are not showing how many things you
have done, 然后说你这样的slides很难拿到faculty的position的，然后我就受刺激了
。。
我想请问：在job talk中各位最看重什么呢？
1. 内容？研究深度？新意？
2. presentation的能力？
3. 互动？
4. 对领域的了解？
5. Relate my talk to their research interest?

我一哥们07大潮差一天没递上485，整整多等了四年，这两个月眼看排期就差一个多月
了，早上还在预祝他马上可以递485了，却等来了这不可思议的消息。

我觉得1和2最重要。一方面要让绝大部分的听众明白你做了啥和有什么研究意义(big
picture)；另一方面让业内专家看出你做的深度和份量。

He/She is right. Presentation is just about the taste of the meat, but not
the meat itself.
You want to inspire their interests, and show the way you have done and how
you will do to expand this interesting area.

at least your buddy will have only 1 month to cover
for those with PD after 2008, who knows what kind of "surprise" Mr.O and
USCIS will be presenting to them.

同意你老板的意见。我觉得你说的这些都重要，但是前提是你讲清楚了talk的内容，否
则观众没听懂你的talk,别的任何意图都是白搭。

2007 may, June, July PD needs one year at least, no only 1 month

one month on the VB
not one month in real world
LOL
what about those with PD in 2008/09/10?
what will be their waiting time in real time then?
Let's just sit back and enjoy the college football season for the rest of
2011.
I guess it will take another national champ for your 'Canes for me to get
current.LOL

I am pretty sure 2007/5/6/7 people can get their card before 2012/9 in any
circumstances, unless there is some unfortunate delay, which is always
possible with uscis.
