Navigate to "Menu >> Settings >> Wireless & Networks
>> Mobile Networks >> Access Point Names >> Menu
>> New APN" and Enter the following settings
Name: AT&T
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: *leave it blank*
Port: 80
Username:W*[email protected]
Password:CINGULAR1
Server: *leave it blank*
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
(may not have this entry) MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC:310
MNC:410
Authentication Type: *leave it blank*
APN Type: *leave it blank*
Done! NOTE: Don't select this new entry. Leave the selected entry "AT&T US
HSDPA"

问一下这个是用来干嘛的？是把不能tethering的ATT plan搞得可以tethering，还是说
可以免费用ATT的hotspot上网？

oh, 把不能tethering的ATT plan搞得可以tethering, don't pay the extra
tethering fee. Sorry for not being specific in original post.

这个牛B大了，省$20/m, 这个是bug还是feature? 这么大的漏洞很快就会被堵上的吧。

买atrix不是要加data plan了吗？

不过这手段如果传开被att知道了，我们这些prepaid用户就遭殃了，买个wifi only的
xoom，用nexus one当hotspot的美梦就破灭了

I guess ATT already knew it. but didn't bother to disable it for whatever
reason. It's an open secret.

没太看懂这么做什么意图，
一般手机ROOT后随便TETHER，根本不用去ATT申请WIFI HOTSPOT付20钱啊

ATT charges fee for tethering.
with 200M/$15 per month, tethering laptops can easily use data over limit.
so tether is best for unlimited plan, and somewhat good for 2GB plan.
